Somethin' In Da Water

So I hear all this talk about Viagra and Birth Control in the water. (We need birth control in the water... LOL!) But I think someone put something in the Aquafina. I had my retightening done this past week and my consultant informed me I had a super growth spurt from the last time I saw her. My hair always grows longer on the top of my pea head. It has always been that way. I had my normal newgrowth in the back of my dome, but I had all this extra growth on top. I been joking around asking other bloggers if they can give me some of that water they been drinking. To think, I had the water all this time.

My consultant, which I should just refer to her as "Superwoman", said that I have had a lot of growth in just 5 months. Even my little locks that I cut back in January are getting longer, and longer. Superwoman said that my hair is settled and is beginning to lock. Hooray! I can't wait to look back at my one year anniversary to see how I progressed. Superwoman also mentioned that my ends may not seal, they just might end up being curly q's. I do hope they seal, if not I can deal with the "Q's". We also talked about the ends that are "S" shape. We came up with two possible conclusions as to why they are not curly Q's.

1. My hair does have different textures, my hair has always been nappiest in the back, and more softer in the front.

2. About this time last year I dyed the golden ends of my hair black. I was tired of the two tones of my hair. It was like the end of my puff ball pony tail was this golden color and the rest of my hair was black. She told me that sometimes hair color can straiten your hair and make it harder to lock. So those ends were striped with the golden color and then had a black dye over it, talk about damage to your hair.

I need to go back to drinking aquafina lol. I've been praying for a growth spurt! My consultant says it's been growing fast but my hair likes to shrink 3 days after a retightening then the growth isn't that recognizable. I noticed the front of my hair doesn't Q but S curls as well thought it might have been because they would get wet while washing my face but then I started using a shower cap and it still S curls rather then Q's. Interesting I like the Q's but I, like you would much rather sealed ends. Customers coming in have to work now =/

PS your locks are B E A utiful!!

I remember when I was a loose natural my hairdresser recommended I color my hair to loosen the curl pattern.... Now why would I want to go and do that?! I Love the color of my hair and Sisterlocks came to my rescue!!!

I need to get me some of that water!!!!

whoa! i guess i need to start drinking aquafina as well... but i do drink a lot water as well and I can feel a lot of new growth (at least I am hoping that is what it is, and not just loose at the end... but that probably could happen then huh?). your hair looks really good.

I didn't know this about hair dye, maybe I should dye my hair prior to getting locked then to release some of my natural curl. Then it can curl and have more body as it grows out. Maybe it will work and then again maybe not. What do you think Lakia?

I wouldn't recommend dying the hair prior to locking. Your curl pattern is what helps you to lock. I recommend dying matured locks. If I decide to color my hair it will probally be after 1 1/2 years after being locked.

Does this mean I have to stop drinkning Dasani?? Hey Lakia, your hair is looking fab as well as make-up choices. I'm a MAC girl as well. Been keeping up with you but in a funk myself but I'm back on line with a horror story. Give a shout when you get a chance.
Peace....

LMAO @ just about everyone. I will be highly upset if I got to the store and find all the water has been purchased. LOL!

Congrats on making 5 months. It's a great time in the growth process. Enjoy it, 'cause you'll never experience this time with your locks again as they will continue to mature and change. Regarding color on the end - very damaging. I am having some difficulty with my highlighted locks. That's something I won't be doing again! I'll blog about it soon. Thanks for the luv and support. I'm glad that your locks are making progress. I know that makes you happy!
I'm glad you mentioned statement #2beccause now that makes it a possibility of why my hair took so long to lock . It's almost been two years and I think when my anniversary comes I will finally be able to say that I'm fully locked!

So you're saying the case of Dasani I bought today won't do the trick? I think this is why I won't be trying to color my hair afterall. I'm just worried about what the chemicals are doing to my hair and what that could mean over years of coloring.

congrats! doesn't that feel good to hear that they are finally locking?! i think the diff hair textures is true for a lot of ppl.. my top just started locking for me and the girl who does my maintenance says that it takes longer for most people to either loc on top/sides/back. finally! i'm tired of the retwisting and styling of my front. i hope i like this from here on out LOL
